2024 Theme: Tell Your Climate Story

The 2024 Ocean Awareness Contest invites teens to become climate witnesses by sharing their unique climate stories. It’s a call for creative expression of personal experiences, insights, or perceptions regarding the changing climate.

Participants are encouraged to explore how the climate crisis affects their communities and to reflect on their responses to these changes. The submission deadline is set for June 10, 2024.

Eligibility

  • Open to students aged 11-18 from around the globe.
  • Divided into Junior Division (ages 11-14) and Senior Division (ages 15-18).
  • Entries can be individual or group, with an Adult Sponsor’s contact information provided.
  • Excludes students who have commenced college or university education.

Submission Categories

Participants can submit their climate stories through various mediums:

  • Visual Art (Handcrafted and Digital)
  • Poetry & Spoken Word
  • Creative Writing
  • Film
  • Performing Arts (Music & Dance)
  • Interactive & Multimedia

Submission Requirements & Deadline

  • Focus specifically on climate change, distinguishing it from other environmental issues unless connecting them to climate change.
  • Adhere to the contest’s creative and thematic guidelines.
  • Submissions must be received by June 10, 2024.
